Barry William Blenkhorn was born on 30 September 1954, in Santa Monica, California USA of Canadian, English and German ancestry. He is known under his stage name of Barry Williams, and has been active in the entertainment industry since 1967, but rose to the prominence for his role of Greg Brady in the TV series “The Brady Bunch” (1969 – 1974) broadcast on the ABC channel.

In his personal life, Barry Williams has been married twice, firstly to Diane Martin in 1990, however, the marriage ended in divorce in 1992. Eila Mary Matt was Barry Williams’ second wife, whom he married in 1999. In 2004 she gave the birth to their son, Brandon Eric Williams, but in 2005 they divorced. Williams is now in a long term relationship with Elizabeth Kennedy, and in 2012 Elizabeth gave birth to their daughter, Samantha Rose Williams.

Peter Gabriel's song "The Barry Williams Show", from the album "Up", was not intended as a reference to Barry Williams; it wasn't until after the song was written and recorded that Peter Gabriel found out that there was an American actor named Barry Williams. To make up for this, Peter Gabriel invited Barry Williams to appear in the video for the song.
