While in the AWA, Scott fought with Curt Henning in a tag team, eventually winning the AWA World Tag Team Championship Title on the 18th January 1986, against Jimmy Garvin and Steve Regal, which increased Scott`s net worth to a large degree. However, he left AWA, and returned to the NWA this time under WCW territory by Jim Ross. During this time he participated in the The Great American Bash: The Glory Days, as he was a part of the King of The Hill Battle Royal, but soon went on a break.
